| It was 85 years
ago that Bill Brewster Jr., started the
manufacturing company, located in Newark, NJ. Having
been an accomplished tool and die maker of "the
old school," Bill Brewster was a craftsman
proud of his trade, his tools, and obsessed with the
virtue of hard work. In the early years, the Wm. H.
Brewster Jr., Inc. manufactured tools, dies, jig
fixtures, and metal stampings for metal working
firms. Years later Mr. Brewster was plagued with a
serious heart condition. Knowing some day the firm
would have to succeed without him; he taught,
trained and personally guided his daughters
Katherine and Marguerite in the specialized field of
manufacturing precision round washer and shims.
|
| After the death of Bill
Brewster the company relocated to Fairfield, NJ
1962. Having been one of the first companies's to
move to Fairfield, the street was almost named after
Brewster, but then was named after Mr. Kulick who
owned the farmland in the area. The two sisters
shared the responsibility of carrying on the
business in the name of their father. Miss Katherine
Brewster, President, is in charge of all aspects of
the company as well as the quality control. |

1919, Wm. H. Brewster Jr., Inc. has consistently

| Bill Brewster would be
proud of the success that the company has achieved
through hard work and perseverance. Also, that the
company is still a family business with many of his
traditions still carrying on. |
